It's trolley mating season. I was lucky enough to snap some of the delicate creatures in the wetlands at Warriewood, an area to which the shopping trolley (Metallum fillitupis) is endemic. Males die after mating, their shiny forms glistening, then rusting, in the waters which from which they once sprang voraciously.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is 75 years old. Went for a stroll over her today, got in a day early, as I dislike crowds in a big way. A fountain at "Springwood", once the home of Norman Lindsay, now a National Trust gallery and museum. Norman Lindsay happens to be my favourite Australian artist. When I look at his work, I get lost in a world oozing sensuality and humour. Consequently, whenever I am in the Blue Mountains, I find it hard not to drop in at "Springwood", just to escape for a while to that world.I adored (still do!)

I guess when you spend the amount of time and mula this family has on a display like this, you want to get the most you can from it. I see this house across the valley from my place, it is a beacon, this photo does it no justice. So many moving parts, all through the garden, probably visible from space. And, the display continues for now, isn't that bad luck?
