The water, the water, the water
22 August 2006
Apparently the water off the coast of Sydney is a couple of degrees warmer than average at the moment. Maybe that explains why I've been able to go swimming (and not in a steamer like my husband does) in the middle of winter. The article in which I read about this warm mass of water, suggests that the phenomenon might be related to global climate change. I have another theory. Sydney has a population of over 4 million and as you know, we Aussies do love the beach. Add to that a shirtload of tourists taking a dip in the Tasman off the likes of Bondi and Manly, and what do you have? A truckload of wee that's what you have. Global warming, pah... I believe in the power of the piss.

Danger Rocks Fall from Cliff
21 August 2006
At Bilgola Beach, when rocks fall from the cliff, they stack them ever so nicely.
I wish I had someone to stack the rocks that fall from the cliffs of my life. It'd be a lot easier to get thoughts out of this cluttered head. I'd like a headspace that looked like Bilgola Beach; clean, surrounded by success and seemingly always sunny.
Note to self: get stacking!

Fuck off winter
19 August 2006
A beautiful morning today, the pool was calling sweetly to me. A stark contrast to last weekend, when, wrapped in woollies and too wussy to swim, I turned my back on the water. On the way back from the pool, we passed a gentleman of a certain age. He reclined on the sand as if expired. He wore bright blue buggie smugglers, and his leathery old hide was oiled from top to toe in baby oil, the scent of which assaulted the olfactometer as I side-stepped his possessions. A slightly disturbing end to a wonderful morning at the beach.
