Adaptation

03 November 2006

Pig's Face and GrassPlump, fleshy, green leaves of Pig Face and the spikey, silvery, dryness of Spinifex. I love adaptation to harsh conditions, in all its varied forms.

I'm sipping black coffee, while watching the rain falling from safe inside my warm dwelling. I'm very tempted to go for a long walk in the gentle pitter patter and find myself soaked to the bone. I'll come home shivering, run a hot bath and soak myself warm. The temptation is too much.

Ahhh... the 'true' spinifix. All those mob in the outback have been ripping us off for YEARS... there'll be a public outcry - the tourists will go spare!!!

Ahhh what the heck - it's only grass anyway! ;-)

Pigface can have amazing flowers eh?! And to have a burst of colour like that contrasting with the sand and (over here) sandune environment is a pretty coll thing to see.

Many a beach fire was started hoarding dry spinifix seedheads! Ah the memories! lol ;-)

Beach fires are great... wish we could still do that around these parts. Yes, I love the brightness of Pig Face flowers and the sweet, saltiness of the fruit.

How goes the frogs?

Back in Perth A... the frogs are spared for at least a week. They get the run of the house and must have themselves a fat time, as they leave little frog 'surprises' everywhere for us me when I get back, lol!

I keep getting pictures of one hell of a frog party being thrown in the house when I' back down this way! The little buggers... still though - hardly an insect bothers me in the house. I'd shake their little webbed feet if I could... just not at that early hour in the morning dammit!!!

Well B, at least there is an upside... insect control without chemicals, that's cool.
