reedy boat
I like getting away, going to quieter places, where life is a pace or ten slower.

Google Maps Fun on Australia Day

24 January 2007

Home sweet home

I'm a bit into Google Earth and Google Maps. Yes, I may be a fucking map-geek, but it's not like I spend my nights scanning the world for hovering cars... still I think this is pretty cool.

Together

23 January 2007

When I saw this couple on the beach this morning, I couldn't stop myself from taking a photo. In that scene I imagined a lifetime of shared moments... of togetherness, and that is an achievement and a half in my books. For all I know the reality may be that they had lusted after each other at lawn-bowls for a decade, before her first husband finally fell off his perch last winter, and they meet each Tuesday for a fuck and some shared sunshine.

You can't keep a good tree down

17 January 2007

epicormicYou've got to admire the life-force in trees. Especially our gums; drought, fire, men in hard-hats with chainsaws assault them, and they come back again and again. Like this one from up the road, that screamed,

"Yeah well, fuck you Mr Chainsaw!"

My friend Green was really bummed when he saw how our local park had been "thinned" (ie widow makers and other obvious insurance risks were removed). I just smirked at Green and said,

"Renewable resource dude."

He hates it when I'm that way.

Still going

11 January 2007

I guess when you spend the amount of time and mula this family has on a display like this, you want to get the most you can from it. I see this house across the valley from my place, it is a beacon, this photo does it no justice. So many moving parts, all through the garden, probably visible from space. And, the display continues for now, isn't that bad luck?
